The Mainstream Inclusion Partnership (MIP) offers an innovative approach for schools to efficiently support students with exceptional needs, supplementing the traditional Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) route. It complements the statutory process and does not aim to replace it. Schools retain the option to request an EHC Needs Assessment when deemed necessary, but the MIP should not be seen as a pathway to obtaining an EHCP.
