Come along to meet all the teams that offer support to families at Best Start Family Hub Lampton.

FREE Best Start Family Hub Fun Day - Wednesday 29 July

There will be a variety of fun, free, and accessible activities for children of all ages and abilities to enjoy. This is a great chance for your family to relax, have fun together, and connect with other families, while discovering the services and opportunities that can support you and your family.
You can turn up on the day or register in advance.

Park Walks - 11am to 1pm

A great opportunity for parents and children between 0-5 years (with siblings up to 8 years) to enjoy being outdoors, join in with some activities and rhymes (including scavenge hunts etc); explore the local area, meet new people, and gain support from Children’s Centre Practitioner's. Bring a picnic and blanket along with you when attending the Park Walk's.
Wednesday 12 August, Osterley Park - Meet at the Café.
Thursday 20 August, Heston Park - Meet at the playground entrance.
Friday 28 August, Waye Avenue Park - Meet at the playground entrance.

Nutrition Workshop for Families - Booking needed

Age: For families with children aged 5+
Date and time: Thursday 20 August 1.30 to 2.30pm
Notes: booking required, please contact the Family Hub.
Session details: Parents and children will explore food choices, boost confidence in everyday meals, and pick up simple tips they can use at home straight away – all in a friendly, supportive environment.

Stay and Play
Age: 0 to 5 years
Time: 9.30 to 10.30am - No session Monday 20 July
Session details: A fun, stimulating and safe environment for parents and children (0-5 years) to take part in together. If you have concerns regarding your child’s development, please speak to a member of staff.

Child Development Reviews
Time: 12 to 4pm

Tuesday

Perinatal Appointments
Time: 9am to 12noon
Notes: Appointments via IAPT

Stay and Play
Age: 0 to 5 years - No session 4 August
Time: 1 to 2pm
Session details: A welcoming session for parents, carers, and young children to play and learn together. Enjoy a range of activities in a safe space, with adults encouraged to join in. Connect with other families and staff while supporting early learning, social skills, and confidence. Speak to a member of staff if you have concerns about your child’s development.

Wednesdays

Infant Feeding Support
Time: 10 to 12pm
Session details: A drop-in session, run by an NCT Breastfeeding Counsellor offering support, encouragement and reliable information. Whether getting ready to breastfeed, continuing breastfeeding, expressing, mixed feeding, formula feeding, introducing solids, or stopping breastfeeding. Please arrive early in the session.

Non Walkers
Age: Babies and children not yet walking
Time: 10 to 11am (drop-in) - No session 22 or 12 August
Session Details: A relaxed and welcoming space to meet other families, ask questions about your babies: development, weaning, breastfeeding and play together. Each session ends with a short song or story time.

Story and Rhyme Time
Age: 2 to 5 years
Time: 1pm to 2pm - No session 22 or 12 August
Session details: A fun music session for children aged 18 months to 5 years; singing a mixture of traditional and new rhymes for children using Makaton ending with a story.

Parent - Infant Psychotherapy (PIP) Appointments
Age: 0 to 18 months
Time: 10.30pm to 5pm
Notes: Referral required Health Visitor or by contacting the Family Hub. Delivered by the Parent and Infant Relationship Service (PAIRS).
Session details: PIP seeks to support the development of secure relationships between parent and baby. By spending time thinking about the feelings parents and babies have about being together. Families are able to grow and thrive.

Thursdays

Sharing their World
Age: 0 to 5 year with additional needs.
Time: 10 to 11am - No session 20 August
Notes: Referral required. If you would like to ask questions about this group or self refer, please contact the Family Hub.
Session detailsA relaxed, friendly and supportive group for parents/carers; specifically tailored for children with additional needs, with or without a diagnosis; including concerns of speech delay.

Baby TLC
Age: Non Walkers
Time: 11.30 to 12.45pm
Notes: By referral only. Delivered by the Parent and Infant Relationship Service (PAIRS). Contact the Family Hub for more information.
Session details: A drop-in baby group for non-walkers and their parents/carers to play together, talk, listen and connect.

Hounslow Youth Council
Age: Young people aged 11-18 or 25 years with SEND.
Time: 4.30 to 7pm
Notes: Booking required. The young person must live, study, and/or work in the borough.
Session details: Hounslow Youth Council lead positive change in Hounslow, work with decision makers and have fun!

SEND Local Offer drop-in session

Drop-in sessions for parents, carers, and young people to gain support using Hounslow's Local Offer website. The SEND Local Offer outlines services and support available for children and young people aged 0 to 25 years in Hounslow who have SEND.
Dates: Thursday 27 August 9am to 3pm

Fridays

Baby Massage
Age: Suitable for parents/ carers with babies from 6 weeks to 6 months.
Time: 10 to 11am - No session 24 and 28 August
Session details: A 5 week course to learn how to use nurturing touch to help you and your baby feel more relaxed together.
Notes: Up to 8 families per group. Book by emailing the Family Hub.

Advice and Support
Age: 0 to 19 or 25 years with SEND
Time: 10 to 12 noon.
Notes: Family Navigators work at our Family Hubs to support families and professionals. They connect the community with Family Hub services. If you need help from a Family Navigator for you or a family, please contact us. To book please contact 020 8583 2991 or email the Family Hub.

Young Parents Group
Age: For parents under 25 years
Time: 12 to 1pm
Session details: Young parents group provides a warm, friendly and non-judgmental platform for parents aged 25 and under; to play and learn together with your child.

Childcare, Early Years Education and Starting School Nursery information sessions

A session for parents to ask questions about funded childcare, early education and starting school nursery class. The session is delivered by Hounslow’s Family Information Service (FIS).

Triple P for Baby Course (Booking Required).
Whether you’re pregnant or your baby is already here, Triple P for Baby helps parents and carers who are looking for tips and ideas to help them navigate the challenges that come with having a new baby. It’s a toolbox of proven, positive strategies with a variety of practical ways to promote your baby’s development, build a stronger bond and support their emotional and physical health. Video Interaction Guidance (VIG) (Booking Required)
VIG is a strengths-based approach that uses video recordings to help support relationships between parents and their babies or toddlers. A trained practitioner will film the family together and then show those moments of connection back, in order to build confidence and support positive change.

We invite mums, dads, grandparents, and carers to join us and learn about Family Hub services. It’s a chance to share your experiences and help shape the services we offer. The groups are relaxed and friendly, with refreshments and a crèche provided. Find out more...
