CAMHS - Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service

Monday 6 January to 3 February

Baby Talk and Play (5 week Course)
Age: Ideal for babies aged 6–12 months.
Time: 11am to 12noon
Notes: Booking is required by emailing the Family Hub. Delivered by the PAIRS team
Session details: Baby Talk and Play is a five-week course designed to help support your baby's communication skills through rhyme, stories, play and song.

16 January to 6 February

Triple P for Baby
Age: Pregnancy to 12 months
Time: 2 to 4.30pm
Notes: Booking required. Families need to commit to attending all 4 sessions.  To book please email the Family Hub
Session details: Whether you’re pregnant or your baby is already here, Triple P for Baby helps parents and carers who are looking for tips and ideas to help them navigate the challenges that come with having a new baby. It’s a toolbox of proven, positive strategies with a variety of practical ways to promote your baby’s development, build a stronger bond and support their emotional and physical health. 

Mondays

Maternal Mood Clinic
Time: 9am to 3pm
Notes: Review with your Health Visitor, by appointment only. To make an appointment please call: 020 8973 3490.  

Stay and Play
Age: 0 to 5 years
Time: 9.30 to 10.30am
Notes: If you have concerns regarding your child’s development, please speak to a member of staff. 
Session details: A fun, stimulating and safe environment for parents and children (0-5 years) to take part in together. If you have concerns regarding your child’s development, please speak to a member of staff. 

Child Development Reviews
Time: 12 to 4pm
Notes: Child development review with your Health Visitor, by appointment only. To make an appointment please call: 020 8973 3490.

Alternative Provision  
Age: 5 Years and over with Special Educational Needs and Disability
Time: 2.30 to 4.30pm
Notes: By referral only
Session details: Family Hubs provide a flexible and alternative space for children and young people with SEND to access education. This is arranged through the Alternative Provision Team (Lifelong Learning Skills and Employment). For information about this, please email the Family Hub.

Tuesdays

Perinatal Appointments
Time: 9am to 12pm
Notes: By appointment only. Please speak to your Health Visitor or Midwife to book a session. 

Speech and Language (SALT) Consultations
Age: 0 to 5 years
Time: 9 to 11am
Notes: Referral is strictly via the Family Hub and Children’s Centre teams contact them to find out more.
Session details: For families of children who are not already referred to the NHS Speech and Language Therapy Service. This is an opportunity for families to meet and understand the role of a Speech and Language Therapist, and get advice on how to support their child’s communication.

Occupational Therapist (OT) Consultations
Age: 2 to 5 years
Time: 9 to 11am
Notes: Referral is strictly via the Family Hub and Children’s Centre teams contact them to find out more,
Session details: By referral for families of children who are not already referred to the NHS Occupational Therapy Service. This is an opportunity for families to meet and understand the role of an Occupational Therapist, and get advice on how to support their child’s development through play, self-care skills (including dressing and eating) and fine motor skills.

Stay and Play with SALT, OT AND CAMHS
Age: 0 to 5 years
Time: 1 to 2pm
Session details: A fun, stimulating and safe environment for parents and children to take part in together. If you have concerns regarding your child’s development, please speak to a member of staff. 

Alternative Provision
Age: 5 Years and over with SEND
Time: 2.15 to 4.30pm
Notes: By referral only.
Session details: Family Hubs provide a flexible and alternative space for children and young people aged 5+ with SEND to access education. This is arranged through the Alternative Provision Team (Lifelong Learning Skills and Employment). For information about this, please email the Family Hub.
CAMHS Consultations
Age: 2 to 5 years
Time: 2 to 5pm
Notes: By Appointment only. to book please email the Family Hub.

Wednesdays

Baby Café
Time: 10 to 12pm
Session details: A drop-in session, run by an NCT Breastfeeding Counsellor offering support, encouragement and reliable information. Whether getting ready to breastfeed, continuing breastfeeding, expressing, mixed feeding, formula feeding, introducing solids, or stopping breastfeeding. Please arrive early in the session.

Non Walkers
Age: Babies and children not yet walking
Time: 10 to 11am
Session details: A relaxed and welcoming space to meet other families, ask questions about your babies: development, weaning, breastfeeding and play together. Each session ends with a short song or story time.  

Rhythm and Rhyme
Age: 18 months to 5 years
Time: 1 to 2pm
Session details: A fun music session for children aged 18 months to 5 years; singing a mixture of traditional and new rhymes for children using Makaton.
Alternative Provision
Age: 5 years and over with SEND
Time: 2.30 to 4.30pm

Session details: Family Hubs provide a flexible and alternative space for children and young people aged 5+ with SEND to access education. This is arranged through the Alternative Provision Team (Lifelong Learning Skills and Employment).

Baby Massage
Age: suitable for parents/ carers with babies from 6 weeks to 6 months.
Time: 11.30 to 12.30
Notes: Booking is required by emailing the Family Hub.  This is a 5-week course with a maximum of 6 families per group. 
Session details: Learn how to use nurturing touch to help you and your baby feel more relaxed together.

Thursdays

Sharing their World
Age: 0 to 5 year with additional needs.
Time: 10 to 11am

Session details: A relaxed, friendly and supportive group for parents/carers; specifically tailored for children with additional needs, with or without a diagnosis; including concerns of speech delay.

Baby TLC
Age: Non Walkers
Time: 12 to 1.30pm
Notes: By Invite only. Delivered by the PAIRS team. Contact the Family Hub for more information.
Session details: A drop-in baby group for non-walkers and their parents/carers to play together, talk, listen and connect. 

Hounslow Youth Council
Age: Young people aged 11-18 years or 18-25 years with SEND can join.
Time: 4.30 to 7pm
Notes: The young person must live, study, and/or work in the borough.
Session details: Hounslow Youth Council lead positive change in Hounslow, work with decision makers and have fun!

Friday 17 January

Parent Carer Panel
Time: 9.30 to 11.30am
Notes: Booking required.
Session details: We are looking for mums, dads, grandparents and carers to come along and hear about Family Hub services, share their experiences and help shape Family Hub services. The groups are friendly and informal and we always provide refreshments and a creche. Please email Clare McKenzie at Reach Foundation if you want to attend or have any questions.

Friday 31 January

SEND Transport Co-production
Age: Parents/ carers of Young people aged 13 years and over
Time: 10.30 to 11.30am
Notes: Booking required.
Session details: We would like your support in co-producing the future of School Travel Assistance for Post-16 SEND Students. If you have a young person with SEND aged 13 and above, currently in receipt of Travel Assistance, we’d like you to join us. Please e-mail your interest to consult@hounslow.gov.uk

Family Information Drop-in
Age: All Families
Time: 10 to 11am
Notes: This session is run by Hounslow’s Family Information Service (FIS).
Session details: A drop-in for parents to ask questions regarding free childcare, paying for childcare and starting school nursery.

Fridays

Advice and Support
Age: For families with children aged 0 to 19 years or 25  years with SEND 
Time: 10 to 12pm

Session details: Family Navigators are based in our Family Hubs to support families and professionals. They act as a ‘bridge’ between the community and Family Hub services. If you require a Family Navigator's support with or for a family contact the Family Hub

Young Parents Group
Age: For parents under 25 years
Time: 12 to 1.30pm
Notes: No session 18 April.
Session details: Young parents group provides a warm, friendly and non-judgmental platform for parents aged 25 and under; to play and learn together with your child.

Alternative Provision
Age: 5 years and over with SEND
Time: 3.15 to 4.15pm
Session details: Family Hubs provide a flexible and alternative space for children and young people aged 5+ with SEND to access education. This is arranged through the Alternative Provision Team (Lifelong Learning Skills and Employment). For information about this please email the Family Hub.

Online Workshops and Courses

Childcare questions answered - online

Online drop-in sessions for parents to ask questions regarding free childcare and starting school nursery class. This session is run by Hounslow’s Family Information Service (FIS).

Solihull Approach free online courses for Hounslow residents
Nurturing emotional health and wellbeing from bump to 19+ years. Please visit www.inourplace.co.uk and follow the simple registration process, inputting the access code LBHPARENTS.

  • Please note spaces are limited at all sessions. If the session is at full capacity, you will not be able to enter.
  • If you wish to attend one of these sessions, please ensure you are registered with Hounslow's Children's Centres and Family Hubs. If you are unsure about being registered or if your details need to be updated, please speak to a member of staff.
  • Services are for families with Children 0 - 19 Years, or up to 25 years old if they have special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
  • Age ranges are specified against each session.
  • Sessions may be cancelled at short notice due to training or staff absence. We will try to inform you 24 hours in advance if possible.
