Support available from a health visitor.
  • antenatal contact (from 28 weeks onwards)
  • feeding your baby and introducing solid foods,
  • sleep difficulties,
  • crying babies,
  • and attachment.
  • new birth review (10 to 14 days after your baby is born)
  • 6 to 8 week maternal mood review (contact at well child clinic)
  • 1 year health review
  • 2 year ASQ health review

National Breastfeeding Helpline - 0300 100 0212

Providing support and non-judgemental, evidence-based information on breastfeeding that UK parents value and trust. Offering a 24 hour service, 365 days a year. Existing:
  • web chat,
  • social media
  • support and language lines in Welsh, Polish, Bengali and Sylheti are available from 9:30am.
The service operates a voicemail service.
The Drugs in Breastmilk Information Service (DiBM). Pharmacist volunteers answer questions about drugs and medication from 8:30am via email or Facebook message.

NHS/SHOUT text service

Text the word HUG to 85258 if you are struggling to cope or need help, if you are a:
  • Pregnant women
  • birthing partner,
  • new parents with babies and toddlers up to the age 2 years
  • you have experienced baby or pregnancy loss (including termination for any reason)
