Children's Centres

Children Centres support families with children aged 0-5 years. They offer services and fun activities at venues across Hounslow. They provide a supportive, safe and welcoming environment for all local families.

Early Years SEN Team

We support early years providers to deliver inclusive, high-quality care for children aged 0–5 with SEND.

Each setting has a SEN Advisory Teacher; each childminder has a SEN Specialist Practitioner

We offer advice, training, and practical support on inclusion, SEND, and transitions

We promote collaboration between settings, families, health services, and schools

We signpost to services via the Local Offer

Early Language and Development

Speech and language therapy for young people

Telephone 0808 973 3480 to discuss how to refer a child to us.

For those aged 0 to 19 years who experience difficulties with:

speech
language
communication
swallowing

We offer the following services:

assessment, diagnosis, therapy and management of disorders
training and advice for parents, carers and professionals
access to professionals and voluntary organisations

The service is available for children registered with any Hounslow GP

Oral Health

NHS dental treatment is free for children and young people under 18. It is also free for people who meet certain criteria.

Infants should:

start seeing a dentist as soon after their first teeth appear
Visit a dentist often
Brush teeth twice a day with fluoride toothpaste. Fluoride helps to strengthen and protect teeth
Cut down on sugary foods and drink

Health visiting for children under 5 years

Support available from a health visitor

antenatal contact (from 28 weeks onwards)
new birth review (10 to 14 days after your baby is born)
6 to 8 week maternal mood review (contact at well child clinic)
1 year health review
2 year ASQ health review
