Support for children and students aged 0 to 19 years with diagnosed:
- visual difficulties
- defective visual fields
- deteriorating vision
- visual impairment with profound and complex needs
- no useful vision
Support available
- diagnosis
- support at home, pre-school and school (and out of borough)
- advice on equipment
How to refer a child
Referrals are accepted from health, education and social care professionals.
To refer a child you’ll need permission from the parents/ carer.
Support can only be given when a child is diagnosed with significantly reduced or deteriorating vision which cannot be corrected after surgery, or with the use of spectacles.
