SEND Surgeries

About the SEND Surgeries

The SEND Local Offer provides information, help, guidance and support for Children & Young People living with SEND, their families and SEND Professionals all in one place. If you are a parent carer of a child or young person with special educational needs and disabilities, we know that it can be difficult finding your way through the system and getting clear information and answers to questions.

Following co-production events in the summer of 2023 with Parent Carers and Young People, the Hounslow SEND team and Health partners piloted, from the Autumn term 2023, a half termly drop-in service called the “SEND Surgery”. These surgeries provide families with an informal opportunity to drop in, ask questions and receive help, advice and support including:

  • Therapies
  • Early help
  • Travel Advice
  • How to support and prepare your child for adulthood or transitions
  • Education, Health and Care Plans
  • Short breaks
  • Children with Disability Social care team
  • SENDIASS
  • SENCo Advice
  • Local Offer Website
  • Services available in the local area to support you and your child or young person.
