Additional Funding Early Years

Additional funding that Early Years Providers can access to support the inclusion of children with SEND.

There are 2 main sources of additional funding for pre-school settings. If eligible then they can claim both. They are the Disability Access Fund and The SEN Inclusion Funding.

Please see below for more information

Disability Access Fund

Disability Access Fund

The Disability Access Fund (DAF) is funding available to an early years provider to support the inclusion of children with special educational needs and/or disability (SEND) to access their universal government funding entitlement.

It can be used to support providers in making reasonable adjustments to their settings and/or helping with building capacity. If your child is aged 3- and 4- years old and in receipt of Disability Living Allowance then their pre-school settings (nurseries and childminders) can apply for funding to support their needs.

SEN Inclusion Fund

SEN Inclusion Fund

The SEN Inclusion Fund is funding available to early years providers to support children with special educational needs and/or disability (SEND). The funding is for use in the setting that the child attends and will be given to the provider to be used to support the needs of individual children with SEN. All 2 year olds and 3 & 4 year olds identified with a level of SEND may be able to access the SEN Inclusion fund.
