Education and training after 16

The government requires all young people to stay in education or training until their 18th birthday.

This is to ensure that every young person is able to achieve the skills and knowledge they need in order to move on to a successful career.

You can choose from: full-time education at school or college an apprenticeship or traineeship full time work or volunteering (which is defined as 20 hours or more a week) combined with part-time education or training
