Buttercups at Homefields
Buttercups at Homefields has a large free-flow and renovated playroom, a soft-play garden with outdoor toys and its own baby sleep room, all of which combine to offer a complete early years experience as children develop at this crucial age.
A qualified team help children to make the most of learning through play. They keep up-to-date with Ofsted objectives and the EYFS and are trained in child protection and health and safety.
Staff look to build strong relationships with both parents and children, aiming to see positive and healthy learners develop.
Forest School, which is now part of the nursery, is about enjoying learning in the great outdoors in an environment of bushes, shrubs and trees where insects and mini beasts are in abundance. Our exciting forest school and secure wooded area is away from strangers and dogs or the fear of children wandering off and with all the benefits of learning in the great outdoors that a Forest School can bring to the children.
The boundaries are hidden by bushes and foliage with natural dens within the wooded area and an extensive wild field we call the meadow. There are fruit trees, shrubs, and mini beasts to investigate, also a mud kitchen, toilet tent, sleep tent and an outdoor classroom housed in a big shed. There are climbing and balancing poles and stumps, and we plan to attach a hammock, tyre on a rope swing, a stile and a country gate in the meadow.
The children will enjoy snacks and hot meals in the outdoors and we are fortunate to have a large outdoor classroom in our woodland forest. Our team is made up of Qualified Forest School Leaders who have a wealth of forest school activities to develop with the children. Ours in unique in that we have all of this within a safe boundary with no extra travelling for the children.
Children may join the FSC from the age of 2 years. Children will be outdoors for the entire session, so suitable wet weather and layers must be worn.
