If you think you might lose your home, it is important that you contact us to get advice and support as soon as possible.
It is our priority to help prevent you from becoming homeless by:
- negotiating with your landlord or the people you live with;
- providing you with housing advice – including advice on rent arrears and affordability issues and any grants or benefits that you may be entitled to claim;
- assessing support needs you may have to help you to live independently and keep your accommodation;
- exploring alternative housing options such as seeking private rented accommodation, adapting, swapping, downsizing your home to make it more affordable or depending on your age consider accommodation for older people.
We will assist to resolve your possible homelessness and housing need issues by giving advice, assistance, support and signposting or referring you to alternative services to help you stay in your home or find another home as quickly as possible.
