Support offered for children with special educational needs and disabilities

Support for children and young people with complex physical disabilities. You can request support for

  • children and students aged 3-19 at mainstream schools

  • get advice on specialist equipment

  • motor skills assessments

How to refer a child referral

To get support, the young person needs to be referred by:

  • health professional
  • educational setting, schools or educational professionals
  • social services or other professionals
  • parents and carers

If you are a SENCO please complete a request for information.

If you are another professional please complete this referral form.


  • children who have a long-term physical disability or a complex medical health need that has a significant impact on their access to learning, the curriculum and environment

  • significant co-ordination difficulties (fine motor and gross motor skills) that may not have been formally diagnosed, but parents, schools or other professionals have concerns
