Young Carers Project
Young carers are children and young people who take on practical and/or emotional caring responsibilities.
This could be for your mum, dad, brother, sister, or grandparent who are suffering from a disability, elderly, very ill, have a learning disability, mental health issues or have an alcohol or drug addiction.
Are you helping this someone by:
- washing, feeding or dressing them?
- tidying, cleaning or helping around the house?
- looking after young siblings as well as looking after someone else?
- interpreting or translating for your parents or attending doctors or hospitals appointments?
If any of these apply to you, then you are a young carer and we can help. We can provide you with professional support as well as set up activities for you to socialise and meet other young carers, help your school understand your needs, lend an ear to listen and give you time to be yourself.
We can also ensure your cared for person is safe and well so this time is your time to relax and take part in things you usually cannot attend, such as outings.
If you are aged 5 to 18 years or up to 25 with additional needs, contact the young carers project.
To apply a CFAN form, available in downloads needs to be completed and sent to firstname.lastname@example.org
