Empowering Parents, Empowering Communities (EPEC)

West London NHS Trust is running parenting groups in the local community led by local parents. The ‘Being a Parent’ courses are for parents with children aged between 2-11. They are intended to support you in understanding your child’s feelings and behaviour and learn effective strategies to promote children’s positive behaviour, development and communication skills. This will involve:

  • learning about child-led play
  • how to acknowledge and validate feelings
  • limit setting in the home
  • consequences; time-outs
  • praise and rewards.

Each course lasts for 8 sessions at 2 hours per session. They will be set-up in local venues such as primary schools and children’s centres.

If you are interested in attending one of these groups then please contact the EPEC Hub co-ordinator, Kate Landowska on 07708 509 629.
