Green Corridor - Dig, Plant, Grow

Support offered for children with special educational needs and disabilities

At Green Corridor, we run programmes to help young people, with alternative educational needs, to gain confidence, life skills and social support, alongside national recognised qualifications.

Our small group sizes of differing ability, skill and age allow for young people to develop their skills at their own pace, while supporting and often guiding others. Our welcoming safe environment and staff help to support and develop each young person to look to the future they would like.

Our qualified multi-disciplinary team provide individualized learning plans, 1:1s, trainee progress reviews and parents evenings. Our qualified Horticultural tutors guide the learners through their qualification with additional learning support, no written work and trips to places such as The Causeway Parkland and Kew gardens.

Each learner will also have the opportunity to be involved in activities such as Cooking, CV workshops and Youth Steering Groups and designed to develop social skills, confidence and self-belief.

Based just outside Heathrow Terminal 5 (TW19 6BS), our education charity specialises in supporting young people within our surrounding counties (Slough, Surrey, Hillingdon, Hounslow, Ealing, and beyond) who have a variety of additional needs.

We are aware that some annual reviews have been delayed due to Covid-19 so transition choices may not have been made yet for young people. We still have a few places available on our Horticulture courses for September 2020 (we may also have 1 place left on our Catering course) and we are open and able to offers tours following social distancing or virtual tours on Zoom. We are currently providing education as normal for our young people due to our small group sizes and open plan spaces.

We are also providing some summer placements for any young people with EHCPs who may have suffered the most during lockdown in terms of curriculum recovery, confidence etc. even if the young people in question don’t then enrol with us in September so please do give a call to discuss further if this is of interest.
