Any parent, or parent-to-be, regardless of age, will need some advice and support in their parenting role. This could be help with adjusting to the responsibilities of being a parent, lack of support and loneliness.

Healthy start 

Pregnant or have children under the age of four? You could qualify if you're on benefits, or if you're pregnant and under 18
With Healthy Start, you get free vouchers every week to spend on milk, plain fresh and frozen fruit and vegetables, and infant formula milk. You can also get free vitamins.
Family Nurse Partnership (FNP)
If you are under 19 and expecting your first baby, a family nurse can visit you to help you have a healthy pregnancy and enjoy being the best mum you can. Your specially trained family nurse will help you understand all about your pregnancy and how to care well for yourself and your baby. Your nurse will visit you regularly during your pregnancy and then after the birth until your child is two years old.
Clients receiving Family Nurse Partnership need to give consent to participate and must:
  • Be aged 19 years old or under
  • Have a Hounslow address
  • First pregnancy as confirmed by health professional (included if previous pregnancy ended in miscarriage, stillbirth or termination.)
  • Notified to the Family Nurse Partnership team no later than 28 weeks gestation.
Patients can refer themselves to the Family Nurse Partnership service, or referrals can be made by GPs, midwifery services, educational organisations, voluntary sector, youth services and social care.
