Wraparound childcare is before and after school childcare. Also know as breakfast clubs and after school clubs. These are for primary school aged children.
They usually run from 8am until 6pm, during term time. They run on either on a school site or another local setting such as a childminder or day nursery.
The childcare should be available every school day outside of regular school hours and is aimed at helping parents access more childcare and work the hours they want to.
Wraparound care is different from out-of-school activities, or school clubs. These can run less often and can be a one-off activity.
