Stay up to date with the EYFS 2026 guidance on safer eating in this focused bitesize training designed for early years practitioners. This session provides a practical overview of how to support children’s safety during mealtimes while promoting healthy eating habits and positive food experiences.
You’ll explore key expectations, including preventing choking, appropriate supervision, safe food preparation and portioning, and adapting practice for babies and young children at different stages of development. The training also covers recognising risks, managing allergies and intolerances, and maintaining a safe and inclusive mealtime environment.
This short session will refresh your knowledge, strengthen safeguarding practice, and help ensure your setting meets statutory requirements while keeping children safe, supported, and confident at mealtimes.
