Safeguarding and Welfare Requirements

The Early Years Foundation Stage Framework is mandatory for all early years providers in England (from 3 April 2017):

• maintained schools;
• non-maintained schools;
• independent schools;
• providers on the Early Years Register;
• providers registered with an early years childminder agency.

The requirements, in this section, are designed to help create high quality settings which are welcoming, safe and stimulating, and where children are able to enjoy learning and grow in confidence.
