Promoting Tax Free Childcare to working parents
Tax-Free Childcare (TFC) is for:
- Working families, including the self-employed, with children aged 0-11 (or 0-16 if disabled)
- Earning under £100k a year or at least £152 per week each and are not in receipt of Tax Credits, Universal Credit or childcare vouchers
- For every £8 they pay into their online account, the government will add an extra £2, up to £2,000 per child per year - that's up to £500 every three months.
- If they have a disabled child, they can receive up to £4,000 per child per year- that's up to £1,000 every three months.
As an Ofsted registered provider you are able to sign up to TFC
Parents entering the scheme open an online childcare account which they use to pay you directly for childcare. Payments work just as they do through an online bank account. Each payment is accompanied by a reference number for each child so you can identify their payments.
You will only be able to receive Tax-Free Childcare payments from your customers if you’ve signed up to Tax-Free Childcare.
Signing up to Tax-Free Childcare does not affect payments you receive through any childcare voucher schemes.
