Early Years Practitioners

Course Outline

Practitioners will gain a portfolio of ideas to support children’s physical activity and ensure their provision meets the Physical Activity guidelines of the Chief Medical Officer.

Course Aims

Delegates will learn to -
  • Create a movement entitlement and a ‘Can do’ approach to movement, to support children to learn to love being active and to build physical competencies
  • Gain an understanding of sensory development and purposeful activities needed to support learning
  • Be able to provide an active friendly enabling environment with challenge to ensure children learn how to manage their risk and learn to self-regulate
  • Increase practitioner confidence and skill in supporting children to meet the Chief Medical Officer’s Physical Activity guidelines in their setting
