Course Outline:
This course will help improve understanding of the importance of instilling good eating habits in the under 5's. Working on a whole settings approach you will map where food and drink features through the day and identify opportunities. Participants will be supported in their understanding of the voluntary food and drink guidelines and how to apply them to menu changes. Ideas on how to promote the voice of young children in food choices and activities will be shared.
Course Objectives:
- Understand the impact good nutrition can have in the early years
- Knowledge of the Early Years Voluntary Food and Drink guidelines and how to apply them
- Be able to conduct a menu review
- How to engage with and inform children's food choices
- The principles of a whole setting approach to good food
