Service Description: | If physical, sensory or cognitive disability is preventing your child from doing the activities they want, occupational therapy could give them the support they need to maximise their independence.
Occupational therapy help your child function and play better, as well as be able to go to school.
When you should request an assessment
Occupation therapy is available for children aged 0 to 19 who have signs of:
developmental difficulties
sensory processing
physical or neurological disabilities
Support you can get
Following an assessment you could get support with:
therapy
group sessions
equipment and adaptations
autism
cerebral palsy
hemiplegia
motor skills and handwriting
Support is available in clinics, at home and in schools and nurseries.
How to get an assessment
A child needs to be referred by their GP, a health professional or school.
They also need to be registered with a Hounslow GP, or one of these three Ealing GP practices.
