HAF Information for parents and carers

Eligibility

Your child may be able to get free school meals if you get any of the following:
  •  Income Support
  •  Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
  •  Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  •  Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  •  The guaranteed element of Pension Credit
  •  Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
  • Working Tax Credit run-on - paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
  •  Universal Credit - if you apply on or after 1 April 2018 your household income must be less than £7,400 a year (after tax and not including any benefits you get)  
Discretionary fund
Local authorities have discretion to use up to 15% of their funding to provide free or subsidised holiday club places for children who are not in receipt of benefits-related FSM but who the local authority believe could benefit from HAF. This is aligned to Hounslow’s local priorities. Hounslow process for this is that any professional or service that is working with the child/Family can refer to the Hounslow HAF team HAF@Hounslow.gov.uk to request for a voucher to be raised after providing
  • Child’s name
  • Parents Name, email and phone
  • Reason for raising a voucher

All providers of HAF are asked to provide Hounslow copies of all evaluations for parents and children. If you have not received one - request an evaluation form.

We hope that you and your child enjoy your chosen provision, Hounslow do monitor provisions compliance and quality however, if you have any cause for concern please email HAF@Hounslow.gov.uk and we will look into this for you.
