Next Gen Programme (Secondary) 12 to 16 years

Next Gen is part of the Department of Education funded HAF Programme created to ensure 12-16 year olds are entitled to benefits related free school meals have the opportunity to participate in exciting experiences and access to spaces to work out and get food while they are there.
Hounslow are excited to be able accommodate a range of offers such as gym sessions, swimming, basketball, martial arts, lifesaving, youth club and more. Young people can access 16 days of activities over the summer period and 4 days over Easter and 4 days over Winter
All providers will be expected to meet the requirements below:
  • A healthy balanced meal each session
  • An opportunity for nutritional education
  • Taking part in fun and engaging experiences
  • Help and advice on any other services that might be helpful to you

Smart Raspberry Cookery Camp

This Easter, young people aged 12–16 are invited to take part in our Next Gen Cookery Camp, where they will learn to prepare a range of delicious meals from scratch, inspired by cuisines from around the world. Each session focuses on building confidence, independence, and real-life cooking skills, while encouraging creativity, teamwork, and a love of healthy food.

Life Support

This is a short course for young children to learn basis CPR using AED and first aid. The course will have a certificate at the end of the session as it is a recognised qualification. We will require a Royal Lifesaving Society form to be completed prior to the course so certification can be given. The course will include 1.5 hours of fun, interactive first aid and AED training followed by an hour lunch break which food will be provided, and children are to remain on site, followed by a further 1.5-hour training to complete the course.
The courses will be run by qualified trainer assessor.

Kidwise Game Design

Kidwise Next Gen Skills Programme – A practical 4-day programme for teenagers focused on creating, building and problem-solving. Young people will design their own games using physical prototypes, develop and present a small business idea, explore how design influences behaviour, and take part in team challenges and active sessions. Throughout the week they will work towards achievement badges while building confidence, communication and teamwork skills.

A high-energy martial arts and fitness camp focused on building confidence, discipline and resilience through Taekwondo, pad work and team challenges. A leadership and volunteering programme for young people aged 13–16 who are HAF-eligible. Participants will support the Easter HAF camp by assisting activity leaders, helping to set up sessions, and working with younger children during sports, creative, and wellbeing activities. This programme helps young people build confidence, develop leadership skills, and gain valuable experience that can support future volunteering and youth employment opportunities.

Two Day Football Camp
31 March to 1 April, 2 to 5pm
Join us for an action-packed two-day football camp designed to build skills, confidence, and teamwork! Athletes will learn fundamental techniques including speed and agility, passing and catching, ball handling, blocking, and defensive skills. Campers will rotate through position-specific drills, compete in fun challenges, and finish with a controlled scrimmage.
