Course outline:

If you have concerns about a child’s PSED and behaviour then this session will look at practical ways to assess children’s needs, plan appropriate strategies and interventions and ideas / activities to promote positive behaviour.

Course objectives:

The session will consider:
  • Principles, information and guidance
  • Factors that affect progress and behaviour
  • Tools to help assess and identify personal, social and emotional difficulties
  • Planning
  • Strategies and interventions
  • Working with parents
  • Promoting positive behaviour

Course outcomes:

Practitioners will have increased:
• Knowledge of relevant information and guidance including Reasonable Force Guidelines to keep children and adults safe
• Knowledge and understanding of tools to help assess and identify personal, social and emotional difficulties
• Understanding of ways to promote positive behaviour
• Awareness of a range of strategies and interventions
