Course Outline
This session will raise awareness of the needs of bilingual learners in Early Years settings and to explore ways to meet those needs
Course Aims
- Examine strategies and resources that develop the language of EAL children at different stages of learning English
- Understand how fluency in home language can facilitate the acquisition of English
- Create a welcoming ethos that will foster an effective partnership with parents
- Raise the self-esteem of EAL pupils and motivate them to achieve well and meet their targets
- Assess your settings and identify strengths and areas for development
This course is suitable for practitioners in Early Years settings working with young children who speak a range of languages.
