Quality Interactions in the Baby Room

Target Audience

Early Years Practitioners that work with children aged 2 and under in any capacity

Course Outline

This one day interactive training course explores the vital role of the adult in helping the youngest children to communicate and looks in detail at the quality of interaction to support communication development as well as mental good health in the first 1001 days.
Through analysing video footage, practitioners will be supported to look at interaction in detail and focus on how and what we say and do when playing and talking with young children and babies can make a huge and exciting difference to the quality of the child’s learning experience.

• Key Interaction strategies will be modelled
• Quality interaction during nappy changing and mealtime discussed
• Ideas for songs, rhymes and play will be shared

Participants will then be given the opportunity to reflect and identify key areas for development in their own practice.
